Roof Finance — Spreading the Cost
A new roof or major repair is rarely planned for. For most North East homeowners the cost lands at the worst moment — after a leak, a storm, or a survey on the way to selling. This page is an honest guide to spreading that cost, and what we recommend you ask before signing anything.
- Get the proper quote first — never let the finance lead the spec
- Compare APR, not just monthly payment
- Insurance-related work: claim first, top up only if needed
- Beware door-knock financing pitched alongside the survey
- Ask us for a written, itemised quote you can take anywhere
How we approach finance
We're roofers, not lenders. Our job is to give you an honest, itemised quote that you can take to any reputable home-improvement finance provider, your own bank or a credit union — whichever works out cheapest for you. We won't bundle finance into the price.
If the work qualifies as insurance damage (storm, impact, ingress) we'll help you put together the report and photos your insurer needs before you consider any finance at all.
What to watch out for
Some firms push finance hard during the survey — pressure tactics around 'today's price' or 'special rate ends tonight' are an immediate red flag. A proper roofer is happy for you to take the quote away and think.
Always check whether you're looking at the APR or just the headline monthly figure — they can tell very different stories on the same loan.
Roof finance FAQs
Do you offer finance directly?+
We don't bundle finance with our quotes. Our written, itemised quote works with any reputable home-improvement lender, your own bank or a credit union — whichever is cheapest for you.
Should I claim on insurance first?+
Yes, if the work is storm, impact or ingress-related. We'll help with the report and photographs your insurer needs.
Is door-step finance safe?+
Be cautious. Pressure to sign 'today' for a special rate is a red flag. A proper quote should be valid for at least a couple of weeks.
