Which system suits a garage roof
Most garages are simple rectangles, which makes them ideal for EPDM rubber — the membrane arrives as a single sheet sized to the roof, so there are no seams to fail, and it routinely lasts 25 to 30 years or more. GRP fibre glass is the harder, more rigid finish: seamless, with a 25-plus-year design life, and the better choice if the roof gets walked on or doubles as storage. Torch-on felt remains the budget-friendly option — a proper three-layer SBS-modified system, and the most repairable of the three if something damages it later.

Why we strip the old roof off first
The covering is rarely the whole story. Can my garage roof be repaired instead of replaced?+
Sometimes. A split or localised failure in torch-on felt can often be patch-welded so it is as good as new, and we will always say when a repair buys real years. Replacement is the honest answer when the whole covering is at the end of its life or the deck underneath has got wet.
Do you lay the new roof over the old felt?+
No. We strip the old covering off, inspect the timber deck and replace anything rotten before the new system goes on. Laying over old felt seals damp in and the new roof inherits the old one's problems.
How long does a garage roof replacement take?+
A straightforward single garage is typically a day or two of work, depending on how much deck repair is needed once the old covering is off. We confirm the programme when we quote, not on the morning of the job.
Which is best for a garage — GRP or EPDM?+
