Velux Roof Window Installation in Newcastle
A Velux window is only as good as the flashing kit around it — and that's where most Newcastle installs fail within five winters. We fit the correct kit for the covering (slate, plain tile, interlocking tile or profiled), dress the lead upstand properly and pressure-test the flashing before we sign off. We're regularly on roofs close to the A1 western bypass, out around Quayside, through Gosforth and Jesmond.
- Correct flashing kit for your exact tile or slate profile
- Full lead upstand or GRP soaker where the roof geometry needs it
- Rafters trimmed properly with load-bearing trimmers, not just cuts
- Internal reveal boarded, taped and ready for skim
- One-day fit on most single-window jobs; two days for triple installs
- Manufacturer 10-year Velux warranty on the unit

Velux installation in Newcastle — FAQs
How long does a Velux install take?+
Single window in an existing rafter bay: one day. Add a trimmer or fit two side-by-side: two days. Triple bank: three days including internal reveal.
Do you handle the internal plastering?+
We board and tape the reveal so it's ready to skim. Our plasterer can quote for the skim if you want a single supplier, or your own decorator can pick it up.
Will it leak?+
Not if the flashing kit matches the tile profile and the upstand is dressed properly. We pressure-hose test every install before we sign off — you'll see us do it.
Do you install across all of Newcastle?+
Yes — NE1 – NE7, NE12 – NE13 in full, plus Gateshead, Wallsend, Killingworth.
