Mortar-Bedded vs Dry-Ridge
Mortar ridges crack in 5–10 years. Dry-ridge systems use mechanical fixings and a vented strip — 30+ year life, BS 5534 compliant. We use dry-ridge on every new re-roof unless heritage rules forbid it.
Why this matters
Most roof failures we attend could have been avoided by acting on the warning signs six months earlier. The cost of acting early is usually 10–20% of the cost of acting after the leak.
